Apartment Review for Sussex At Kingstowne - Alexandria, VA

You people are exaggerating - severely. Use common sense; don't leave valuables outside your front door. Everyone has a balcony. Put your bike there. You're bike could have been stolen from anywhere - use your head. I've seen several motorcycles in the parking lot and not one has ever been reported stolen. This is apartment living. You whiny people should accept and expect certain things when you rent an apartment. Expect and accept the fact that you are not going to have complete silence. You will hear your neighbors from time to time regardless what complex you live in. Everyone complains about office staff and maintenance at every single apartment complex I've ever read about - get over it. Unless it's an extreme case like staff cussing you out or maintenance refusing to fix your heating when it's below freezing outside deal with it. You just need to stay on top of them when there is a problem or complain in writing to the management company. That rule applies wherever you rent - duh. Things to be thankful for... Sussex has NO TOWING policy. That is HUGE in this area where every other complex badgers tenants about permits and provide very few visitor spaces. You and guests can park anywhere on the property. You're not guaranteed a spot right in front of your building all the time but that's life. There nightmares of predatory towing practices at other places. These apartments are nice, spacious, and clean. No insect infestation. This is a huge problem in Fairfax/Arlington apartment complexes. I've heard too many horror stories. We've been here a year and have only killed one tiny spider. Low crime area. I've seen the cops one time and it was because some guy was getting his new mustang repo'd. We left our door unlocked (3rd floor) for 2hours yesterday (12/20/09) while we dug our car out of the snow and nothing was missing. Crybaby reviewers are really annoying. You paint this awful picture of the complex when in reality it's not that bad and it could be WAY worse. The only thing anyone should complain about is the crappy job they did plowing the parking lot when it snowed 14 inches over the weekend.
