Apartment Review for Archstone Newport Village - Alexandria, VA

I recently saw an article on this place in the post - WHAT A FREAKIN' JOKE?!?! I moved to this community late this summer and it has been the worst experience since having been there. Don't let the niceties from the leasing office fool you - simply a wolf in sheep's clothing! The maintenance is horrid in that they take forever to come out to fix one problem, and leave the rest of the issues for a "later date" - like when pig's fly.

And please, whatever you do, no matter what other management companies offer  DO NOT EXPECT that your apartment will be ready on your move-in date. It probably wont EVER be to the standard it should. Instead of worrying about how to park your U-haul, expect to worry about those people running around moving old things out of the unit, getting your carpets situated, and a whole lot of deceit about what is really going on without any communication or explanation coming from the community manager. Also  dont even bother filling out the move-in inspection form  basically everyone starts with everything being wrong and nothing working properly. I can almost guarantee that the same issues will be there on your move-out inspection form.

The management at this property has an avoidance issue - has never been available to listen to my problems during or after hours, much less does the manager have the ability to return phone messages - instead you develop GREAT relationships with the scape goats, or I mean leasing consultants, who don't have the authority to really remedy any issues.

Don't be fooled by the "amenities offered" list. The pool isn't that great and the fitness center is constantly closed for construction - I have yet to see this so-called "car wash" - it probably appears when those pigs start flying. And while were in the constant issues domain  I believe that the water has been shut off for one reason or another every SINGLE week since I have been here. Im not sure about you folks  but I do not consider shutting off my water in the middle of the night after Ive had a hard day at work without ANY TYPE of notice to be an early Christmas Present. I guess I should just collect the water that wont go down our inadequate drain systems and use that for bathing, drinking, etc.

I received a notice on my door  discussing a Leasing Expo coming up this weekend and how much I can receive from referring a friend& First and foremost, I would not be ANY type of good, quality, caring friend if I referred someone to this **** hole of a place. In addition, the only referral I will give with regards to the community and its management is to automatically place Archstone Newport Village on your NO list.
