Apartment Review for Eaton Square At Arlington Ridge - Alexandria, VA

The apartment complex has been completly remodeled and looks quite nice. It's very safe and relatively quiet. I started with a 1/1 and upgraded to a 2/1. Big mistake. My new apartment is infested with roaches and has a lot of maintenance problems. The maintenance staff is very prompt but I'm tired of constantly having to call them out. The parking is HORRIBLE. Sometime this past year the apartment complex has started taking regular resident parking and making reserved spots for certain residents, however they don't put up any signs or notices and never informed residents they were going to change the terms of our leases by adding "reserved" spots out of the blue. I actually parked my car in a spot that wasn't reserved that morning but apparently was by that night. I came out the next morning to find my car had been towed! I of course had to foot the bill! I complained to management that if they wanted to create reserved spots out of the blue without warning, they must clearly be marked with visible signs or warnings etc...they simply blamed everything on the towing company who also just happens to double as the contractor hired to create reserved spots...odd...I wasn't aware that tow truck companies also spray painted private properties as well?? Sound fishy? It probably is. It's annoying to find a parking spot and have to do a 360 search to ensure the spot that was not reserved that morning is still not reserved that night. Lower level office staff is nice but upper management is rude and unorganized. I once received a notice (20 days after rent was due) that I had three days to pay the rent or I would be evicited. I had in fact paid the rent on time but the office misplaced my rent check and simply forgot to deposit it. Thank God I wasn't out of town on a 3 day weekend or something when I got that notice or I would have been evicted over a management oversight. To sum up, the apt complex is nice and close to DC, however the problems make it not worth the savings. I won't be renewing my lease.
