Woman MURDERED in an EOS-21 apartment: 12/2/08

On 12/2/2008 a woman was found murdered in her apartment in the 300 S. Van Dorn Street building IN THIS COMPLEX: Dont believe me? Fox 5 News Article: http://www.myfoxdc.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId=7996184&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1 If you are thinking about moving there...DON'T. If you live there, LEAVE as soon as you can. I had the misfortune of living there for 2 years and can attest to the fact that the locks on the building doors are not functioning about 90% of the time: People routinely walk in from off the street and wander around the buildings. In the time I lived there: - Shooting in one of the buildings one month after I moved in - Building doors were completely unlocked for the first 4-5 months that I lived there - Convenience store on the complex got robbed repeatedly - Bullet holes from a .38 in the front glass door of 200 S. Van Dorn when I came home from work - Police had to be called repeatedly for noise problems (Loud "block parties" going on in some apartments) - ANYONE can ride the shuttle bus: Nobody checks your ID, so poorly behaved people from "down the street" often show up on the complex to freeload off the shuttle bus service you pay for - Has many apartments with 10 illegals living inside: Complex does nothing about it. The handful of policemen that live in the complex do absolutely nothing to keep the complex safer. The management only cares about their profits and could really care less about the safety of the buildings in the complex. The grounds may be beautiful but it is all to trick you into what isn't a "zoo" but more like a full-fledged wildlife reserve in which dangerous people simply run "at large." This place is a RIP-OFF and is not worth the money: You could leave in the ghetto on Benning Road SE and have fewer problems. __________________ FROM FOX-5 NEWS WEBSITE Police Find Murdered Alexandria Woman's Car Last Edited: Thursday, 04 Dec 2008, 6:35 PM EST Created: Thursday, 04 Dec 2008, 6:04 PM EST Police say they've found the car that belonged to 24-year-old Juantissa Hill, but they're being fairly tight-lipped about the investigation into her death. ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Police say they've recovered the vehicle belonging to an Alexandria woman who was murdered in her apartment, but they're not saying where it was found. Juantissa Hill was a mere 24 years old. She was in the military. But somehow, she died a horrible death in her Van Dorn Street apartment. "Because the investigation is ongoing, we're only saying it was a violent death, and as you know, it was classified as a homicide," said Dep. Chief Blaine Corle of the Alexandria Police Department. Investigators are remaining fairly tight-lipped about the facts of the case, divulging that they have recovered the victim's vehicle, a 2006 gray Nissan Altima with Michigan plates but they're refusing to say where it was found. "We're not certain what part the location may play in the investigation, so it's something we're going to keep close to the vest for now," said Corle. That leaves residents of the building where Juantissa Hill was killed nervous and concerned about their own lives and wishing there was more security and better lighting in the area, especially in the parking lots. "Especially in the back there, because there are areas that are very poorly lit," said Stephanie Crimarco, who lives in the area. "It would be easy for someone to couch and hide." Police aren't saying whether Hill's death was the result of a burglary, or whether there were signs of forced entry. Some building residents suspect she may have known her killer. "It could be a lot of things, you know," said Richard Dawson. "She's in the service, and if it's not a break-in, then nine times out of 10 it's somebody she knows." A spokeswoman for EOS 21 Management called the murder tragic. She says they double-checked the locks on all the building doors and found them to be operational. She also says a letter is going out to residents today to let them know police are conducting an investigation. Police want to hear from anyone who may have information about Juantissa Hill's whereabouts in the final days before she died. Anyone with information should call the Alexandria Police Department.
