Apartment Review for The Alexandria - Alexandria, VA

I don't feel safe anymore. 4 thugs had been casing our complex building for a few nights. We noticed the vehicle but everyone is used to people pulling in and out of the complex. So we paid it no attention. What made us realize they were casing is that a neighbor watched on the final day to see these 4 thugs sneak around the bushes that had shielded their vehicle from sight and ran upon one of the residents who had been dealing. They held a pistol to his neck and demaded what he had on him. They ransacked his vehicle and pockets and drove away right before the cops came. This morning I was leaving for work (4:20 am), and there were 3 guys just hanging out on the trunk of their car. There was a sexual assault case a few months ago which made me look over my shoulder every few minutes. You can't feel safe to walk alone after dusk and even if you do, you run the risk of being a statistic. The reason I think crime is increasing is that the lighting is very dim in the parking lots. Actually there are no lights in the prkg. lots, just a few lamps along the edges of the sidewalk. This invites creeps to come walking through the complex to see what they can see. And as you know opportunity is the key to crime. Management is new now. Or relatively new. EOS 21. The apartments are decent, but the hallways are seriously sickening. The grounds, dependending upon where you live are either terribly neglected or well-manicured. If you live on the backside, you have just taken a decent into hell. As the crime, the ground maintenance and the trash pile up in heaps from people moving out and wanting to leave old furniture behind. Honestly save yourself the trouble and read a few reviews from competing apartment complexes to determine a better place to live.
