Apartment Review for The Ridgeleigh At Van Dorn Metro (Formerly Known As Jefferson At Van Dorn A - Alexandria, VA

I moved in just under a year ago and there are still things that need to be fixed that I made the office aware of on day 1. Cars get broken into all the time and management won't put up more lights or hire security. The only people in the office even worth talking to for help are Greg and Attiya and they seemed to have fired Attiya. Either that, or she got a clue and left. Frequently, you'll go into the office and if the property manager, Andrea, sees you, she'll just go in her office and shut the door so she doesn't have to deal with you. When I moved in, I was told I could get the keys at 9am. We showed up at 9 with a truck and movers meeting us at 9:30. The apartment wasn't ready and we had to wait a while and then move in to an apartment with wet carpet and a cleaning crew inside. It was ridiculous! They'll tell you that it's easy to get to the metro on foot from here, but it's really not. The distance isn't bad, but the route there is. You have to cross Van Dorn Street, an on-ramp to the beltway, follow a dirt (or muddy) trail for a while, then down some rocky stairs. At that point, you're about half way. The rest is easy. It's not the most horrible place on earth, but just be aware of all the bad stuff that can and will happen. Your car probably will get broken into. If you're on the first floor, someone will atleast attempt to break in. When you put in maintenance requests, be prepared to enter them two or three times cause they won't fix it the first time.
