Apartment Review for Town Square At Millbrook - Alexandria, VA

I am a resident at Millbrook at Town Square. I am one of several victims of several crimes that occurred on the property on 04 May 2009. My car was parked in its registered space. While parked there, my vehicle, and several others were broken into. The thieves broke into several cars(approximately 9 in total) and stole air bags, doors, bumpers and various other personal items left in the cars. Some vehicles were stolen and removed from the property. This is not the first time such crimes have been committed on the premises. There have been other car burglaries in the past month. I am growing increasingly concerned about the safety of my vehicle and my own personal safety. JBG management company has refused to do anything about the situation. The gates that protect this property are better at keeping the police out than they are of protecting the property. JBG management company is refusing to even consider hiring a private security company to monitor the property and they are also refusing to even look into installing video surveillance. Rents on this property, are some of the highest in the region. I no longer feel that the security on the premises justifies the amount JBG is charging residents. I would discourage anyone from renting here. Crime happens everywhere, but Millbrook's management company, JBG, is totally dismissive of the fact that their garages are being specifically targeted due to the lack of security.
